SAVANNAH, Ga., April 25 (UPI) -- Mark O'Meara claimed his first Champions Tour event Sunday as he and Nick Price won a second playoff hole after the final round of the Legends of Golf event.

It was Price's par on playoff hole No. 2 that lifted him and O'Meara to a victory over the team of John Cook and Joey Sindelar at the Westin Savannah, Ga., Harbor course -- giving O'Meara his first title in 58 starts on the Champions Tour.

Price, however, proved a key in the team's win. His nice chip shot to within 7 feet of the cup on the 18th hole set up a winning putt. The victory was Price's second victory on the over-50 circuit.

The pair forced a playoff by shooting a 10-under 62 in their final round, highlighted by an O'Meara 20-foot birdie at the 16th hole. Cook and Sindelar tied them at 28-under 188 after making two late birdies.

Second-round leaders Andy Bean and Chien Soon Lu had a 68, ending one shot out of the playoff at 27-under 189, while defending Savannah champs Bernhard Langer and Tom Lehman fired a 63 to share fourth with Fred Couples and Jay Haas (64) at 23-under 193.
