Cubs fan hurt in fall onto Milwaukee field

MILWAUKEE, April 25 (UPI) -- A Chicago Cubs baseball fan was hurt Sunday when he fell from the stands onto the warning track at Milwaukee's Miller Field, witnesses said.

Witnesses told MLB.com the incident happened during batting practice before the Cubs-Milwaukee Brewers game. They said the man, who was seated near an outfield corner foul line, reached over to catch a ball and tumbled onto the dirt below.

The Web site said concerned Cubs players -- including Sean Marshall, Tom Gorzelanny and Carlos Silva -- gathered around the fan, who was transported to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee after Cubs athletic trainers Mark O'Neal and Ed Halbur and Brewers trainer Roger Caplinger rushed to the scene.

"He was observed by other fans moving all of his extremities," Brewers spokesman Tyler Barnes said.
