SEATTLE, April 24 (UPI) -- The Seattle Seahawks have acquired running back Leon Washington from the New York Jets, the teams said Saturday.
As part of the deal, Seattle got New York's seventh-round selection in this year's draft in exchange for a fifth-round pick.
It was the Seahawks' second deal for a running back Saturday. The team also acquired LenDale White from the Tennessee Titans.
Washington, 27, is looking to bounce back from an injury-plagued 2009. He appeared in seven games for the Jets last season before sustaining a compound fracture of his right tibia and fibula in an Oct. 25 game against Oakland.
He gained 331 yards and caught 15 passes for 131 yards last year before the injury. For his career he has 1,782 rushing yards and 123 pass receptions for 969 yards with 15 touchdowns in 55 games.
