
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, April 24 (UPI) -- Steve Bernier and Mikael Samuelsson scored two goals each Friday in sending Vancouver to a 7-2 whipping of Los Angeles.
The Canucks have scored 13 goals in their last two games to take a 3-2 lead in the Western Conference quarterfinals. Los Angeles will attempt to fight off elimination when it hosts Game 6 on Sunday.
Los Angeles goaltender Jonathan Quick gave up five goals on 26 shots before being removed in the third period for Erik Ersberg.
Ersberg surrendered a goal on each of the first two shots he saw.
Bernier opened the scoring 8:50 into the game and Alexander Edler put the Canucks in front for good at 2-1 with 2:28 left in the opening period.
Daniel Sedin and Samuelsson broke the game open with second-period goals, and both Samuelsson and Bernier scored during a three-goal third period.
Vancouver's Roberto Luongo, who was replaced during the third game of the series, stopped 24-of-26 shots.
