MILWAUKEE, April 24 (UPI) -- John Salmons scored 22 points Saturday to pace the Milwaukee Bucks to a 107-89 rout of Atlanta in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series.
The win gave the Bucks their first victory in the best-of-seven series.
Salmons was a sizzling 9-of-11 from the field and dished off seven assists while Jerry Stackhouse put in 16 points off the bench for Milwaukee, which will host Game 4 Monday at Bradley Center.
Brandon Jennings contributed 13 and Luc Mbah a Moute put in 12 for the Bucks, who are making their first playoff appearance since 2006 and haven't advanced past the first round since 2001.
Atlanta continued its pattern of playing poorly away from home in the post-season, dropping its 15th out of 16 such contests.
The Hawks were led by Joe Johnson with 25 points. They shot poorly, connecting on only 39.1 percent of their field goal tries, including 3-of-15 from 3-point range.
