MLB: New York Mets 3, Atlanta 1

NEW YORK, April 24 (UPI) -- Jeff Francoeur's double in the seventh inning drove in Ike Davis with the go-ahead run Saturday, lifting the New York Mets to a 3-1 win over Atlanta.

With the scored tied 1-1, Davis led off the bottom of the seventh and drew a walk from Atlanta starter Jair Jurrjens (0-2). Francoeur followed by smacking a double off the base of the center-field wall, scoring Davis. Francoeur advanced to third on the throw home.

Henry Blanco followed with a sacrifice fly for an insurance run.

Jonathon Niese started for New York and threw 5 1/3 innings of one-run ball. Manny Acosta (1-0), pitching 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief collected the win while Francisco Rodriguez closed out the victory, earning his third save.

Jason Bay knocked in New York's first run with an RBI double and collected three hits.

The Braves, who dropped their fourth straight, got their only RBI from David Ross on a run-scoring single.
