MLB: Philadelphia 8, Atlanta 3

ATLANTA, April 22 (UPI) -- Jamie Moyer enjoyed plenty of support Thursday and picked up the 260th victory of his career in Philadelphia's 8-3 decision over Atlanta.

Moyer (2-1) allowed two runs, neither of them earned, on four hits with four strikeouts over six innings.

The Phillies had 12 hits and built a 5-0 lead through four innings. Philadelphia has won two of its first three games on a nine-game road trip. Greg Dobbs and Juan Castro combined for five hits and four runs scored.

The loss went to Derek Lowe (3-1), who allowed five runs on six hits in five innings.

Moyer moved into a tie with Ted Lyons for 39th place on the all-time victory list. This is his 24th season in the majors and Thursday's appearance was the 670th of his career.
