MLB: New York Yankees 7, Oakland 3

OAKLAND, Calif., April 21 (UPI) -- Alex Rodriguez smacked a three-run home run and scored twice Tuesday in the New York Yankees' 7-3 win over Oakland.

Jorge Posada and Nick Swisher had two RBI apiece and the Yankees drew 10 walks in their fifth straight victory and their eighth out of nine.

New York starter Javier Vazquez (1-2) went 5 1/3 innings, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks with six strkeouts.

Kurt Suzuki hit a two-run home run and Travis Buck hit bases-empty homer for the A's.

Oakland starter Gio Gonzalez (1-1) gave up five runs on three hits and five walks in 4 1/3 innings.
