Rain postpones Texas Sprint Cup race

FORT WORTH, Texas, April 18 (UPI) -- Rain and fog forced the postponement of Sunday's Samsung Mobile 500 Sprint Cup race in Fort Worth, Texas.

NASCAR officials said the race has been rescheduled for noon Monday at Texas Motor Speedway. The announcement was made after officials first delayed the event 90 minutes past its scheduled 2 p.m. start time.

Persistent rain and foggy conditions ended up washing away all track activities.

Also postponed was the O'Reilly Auto Parts 300 Nationwide event, which had been scheduled for Sunday evening after the Sprint Cup race. It had been bumped to Sunday after initially being washed out Saturday.

The O'Reilly Auto Parts 300 will be run at 5 p.m. Monday at Texas Motor Speedway.
