Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

SAN DIEGO, April 18 (UPI) -- Kevin Correia tossed 5 2/3 shutout innings while Nick Hundley homered and drove in three runs Saturday as the San Diego Padres blanked Arizona 5-0.
Correia (2-1) fanned eight in his stint while Cesar Ramos, Luke Gregerson, Mike Adams and Tim Stauffer each contributed scoreless relief innings to complete the five-pitcher shutout.
Hundley's RBIs included a solo shot in the fourth inning to make it 2-0 while Scott Hairston chipped in with an RBI for the Padres.
The Diamondbacks were led by Kelly Johnson, whose double was the only extra-base hit Arizona could manage in dropping its third straight game and fourth in five contests.
Kris Benson (0-1) took the loss, allowing two runs on six hits over six innings.
