Celtics' Garnett suspended for Game 2

NEW YORK, April 18 (UPI) -- Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett has been suspended for one game following a fight in Saturday's playoff game against Miami, NBA officials said.

NBA Executive Vice President for Basketball Operations Stu Jackson said Sunday Garnett will be held out of Tuesday's second game of the Boston-Miami Eastern Conference quarterfinals series for throwing an elbow at the head of the Heat's Quentin Richardson during a sidelines scuffle.

Jackson said Richardson has been fined $25,000 for his role in the altercation, which happened in the final minute of the Celtics' 85-76 win at TD Garden.

Miami will seek to even the series at 1-1 with a road win Tuesday.
