CHARLESTON, S.C., April 17 (UPI) -- Vera Zvonareva advanced to the Family Circle Cup final Saturday when her opponent, top-seeded Caroline Wozniacki, withdrew with a sprained ankle.
Zvonareva, the seventh-seeded Russian, was leading Wozniacki 5-2 in the first set of their Charleston, S.C., semifinal match when the Danish star pulled out with the injury.

Zvonareva will face Australian Samantha Stosur in Sunday's title match.
No. 4 Stosur downed Slovakian Daniela Hantuchova in the day's other semifinal, 6-3, 7-6 (7-2), advancing to only her second career WTA singles championship match.
Zvonareva is seeking her 11th career singles crown. Earlier this year she claimed the Pattaya City championship in Thailand.
