MLB: Los Angeles Angels 6, Toronto 3

TORONTO, April 17 (UPI) -- Joe Saunders tossed eight strong innings and Howie Kendrick mashed a two-run homer Saturday as the Los Angeles Angels beat Toronto 6-3.

Both of the runs Saunders (1-2) allowed were unearned as he scattered five hits, walked only one and struck out two in the gem.

Kendrick, meanwhile, ended with three RBI and the Angels' Juan Rivera socked the 100th homer of his career as Los Angeles won for the third time in four games after getting off to a slow start.

Toronto's Brian Tallet (1-1) was roughed up for four runs on five hits over five innings and Lyle Overbay got the only RBI in the Blue Jays' fourth loss in six games.
