NHL: Phoenix 3, Detroit 2

GLENDALE, Ariz., April 15 (UPI) -- Derek Morris had a goal and two assists Wednesday in the Phoenix Coyotes' 3-2 win over Detroit in Game 1 of their Western Conference quarterfinal series.

The Coyotes -- in the post-season for the first time in eight seasons -- also got goals from Wojtek Wolski and Keith Yandle. All three of the Phoenix goals came on the power play.

Ilya Bryzgalov posted 38 saves.

Tomas Holmstrom and Nicklas Lidstrom scored for the Red Wings. Jimmy Howard was 32-of-35 in goal for Detroit.
