NHL: Colorado 2, San Jose 1

SAN JOSE, Calif., April 15 (UPI) -- Chris Stewart scored the game-winner with under a minute to play Wednesday in the Colorado Avalanche's 2-1 Western Conference quarterfinal win over San Jose.

Stewart's shot banked into the goal after initially hitting the skate of Sharks' defenseman Rob Blake.

John-Michael Liles scored the other goal and Craig Anderson posted 25 saves for the eighth-seeded Avalanche.

Ryan Clowe scored the Sharks' goal and Evgeni Nabokov was 28-for-30 in goal for top-seeded San Jose in Game 1 of the series.
