OAKLAND, Calif., April 14 (UPI) -- Mehmet Okur scored 23 points and the Utah Jazz moved into first place in the Northwest Division Tuesday with a 103-94 victory over Golden State.
The Jazz took a half-game lead over the Denver Nuggets and will have a shot at taking the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference if they can beat Phoenix in the season finale Wednesday.
Wesley Matthews and C.J. Miles both scored 16 points for Utah. Paul Millsap came off the bench to score 10 points and grab a career-high 24 rebounds.
Devean George led the Warriors with 21 points, including five 3-point shots.
The Jazz broke open a close contest by outscoring Golden State 30-22 in the third quarter. Utah scored the first eight points of the period and then snuffed out a Warriors rally with a 9-1 burst that widened the gap to 68-57 with 4 minutes remaining in the quarter.
