Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

SAN FRANCISCO, April 13 (UPI) -- Bengie Molina had four hits, including a two-run home run, drove in four runs and scored twice Monday in the San Francisco Giants' 9-3 rout of Pittsburgh.
Aubrey Huff had two hits, one RBI and three runs scored and Mark DeRosa had two RBI for the Giants, who have opened the season with six wins in seven games.
Barry Zito (2-0) went six-plus innings, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks with one strikeout.
Akinori Iwamura drove in two runs and Ronny Cedeno had the other RBI for Pirates, who lost for the fourth time in five games.
Brian Burres (0-1) took the loss after giving up six runs on eight hits and two walks in four innings.
The Giants led 7-3 in the eighth when Molina stroked his two-run shot.
