ARLINGTON, Texas, April 11 (UPI) -- Michael Young popped a solo homer and drove in a pair of runs while Matt Treanor also knocked in two runs Sunday as the Texas Rangers downed Seattle 9-2.
The Rangers got an RBI from Vladimir Guerrero and Joaquin Arias collected a trio of hits and scored twice for Texas.
Scott Feldman (1-0) posted the victory by working seven innings, allowing only one earned run on seven hits with a walk and four strikeouts.
The Mariners lost their fifth game in six contests. Adam Moore and Chone Figgins led the M's with an RBI apiece.
Ian Snell (0-1) struggled in his start, lasting only three innings while giving up with five runs on eight hits with two walks in the defeat.
