MLS: Chivas USA 2, New York 0

CARSON, Calif., April 10 (UPI) -- Chivas USA got an own-goal from the Red Bull goalkeeper and Jesus Padilla added a tally Saturday as the Goats downed New York 2-0 Saturday.

New York netminder Bouna Coundoul blundered on a shot from midfielder Padilla. The shot bounced off a defender and the right post toward the goalie, and as Coundoul reached back to pick up the ball, it deflected off his fingertips and into the net, giving Chivas USA 1-0 lead.

Padilla got an insurance goal in the 91st minute, running onto a Zach Thornton goal kick, eluding New York defender Jeremy Hall and putting a shot past Coundoul to make it 2-0.

The victory was the Goats' first win in three games this season.
