PITTSBURGH, April 8 (UPI) -- Ronnie Belliard drove in four runs while coming up just a single short of hitting for the cycle Thursday in the LA Dodgers' 10-2 pummeling of Pittsburgh.
The day after he turned 35, Belliard hit a two-run homer, an RBI triple and a run-scoring double.
James Loney, Matt Kemp and Garret Anderson each drove in two runs for Los Angeles, which avoided a Pirates sweep in the season-opening series.
The win went to Chad Billingsley (1-0), who gave up one run on five hits and four walks in 5 1/3 innings. He recorded seven strikeouts.
Losing Pittsburgh starter Paul Maholm (0-1) coughed up four runs on six hits over six innings.
