
MILWAUKEE, April 7 (UPI) -- John Salmons led the way with 22 points Wednesday and the Milwaukee Bucks pulled away in the fourth quarter to defeat New Jersey 108-89.
The Bucks remained in a tie with Miami for fifth place in the Eastern Conference, with both teams having four games to play.
Jerry Stackhouse contributed 18 points off the bench for the Bucks, who will be taking part in the playoffs for the first time in four years. Milwaukee won its third in a row.
New Jersey was led by Devin Harris, who scored 18 of his 25 points in the first period. The Nets lost for the third time in four games. They have three contests remaining in which to improve on their 11-win total.
Milwaukee took a seven-point lead into the fourth period and outscored the Nets in that period 26-14.
