BOSTON, April 7 (UPI) -- Robinson Cano belted a homer and knocked in two runs Tuesday to boost the New York Yankees to their first win of the season, a 6-4 decision over Boston.

Cano went 2-for-3 and scored two runs while Nick Swisher collected a pair of doubles and an RBI as the Yanks avenged an Opening Day 9-7 loss to the Red Sox.

Nick Johnson, Mark Teixeira and Alex Rodriguez each chipped in with an RBI in the Yankees' win.

A.J. Burnett began the game for New York and went five innings, giving up four runs on seven hits with a walk and five strikeouts. Alfredo Aceves (1-0) was credited with the win after throwing two scoreless innings.

The Red Sox were led by Victor Martinez with a two-run homer and three RBI, while Jacoby Ellsbury went 2-for-5 with two runs scored.

Reliever Hideki Okajima (1-1) took the loss.
