MILWAUKEE, April 7 (UPI) -- Jody Gerut's pinch-hit RBI double in the sixth put Milwaukee ahead and the Brewers made the lead hold up for a 5-4 win over Colorado Wednesday.
Reliever Todd Coffey (1-0) got the win and Trevor Hoffman picked up his second save in two days as Milwaukee's bullpen teamed up to hurl five scoreless innings to nail down the victory.
With the win, the Brewers took the rubber match of a three-game series and notched their first series win against the Rockies since July 13-15, 2007.
George Kottaras added a sacrifice fly in the sixth in his Brewers debut and Jim Edmonds got a pair of hits and scored twice in Milwaukee's win.
Aaron Cook (0-1) took the loss for the Rockies in a 5 1/3-inning start, during which he allowed five runs on seven hits and a walk. Miguel Olivo smacked a solo home run in his first game with Colorado.
