SUNRISE, Fla., April 6 (UPI) -- Mike Fisher tallied twice and Chris Neil added a goal and two assists Tuesday as the Ottawa Senators downed Florida 5-2.

Pascal Leclaire made 32 stops in the win, enabling Ottawa to strengthen its grip on the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference standings. But the Senators lost the Northwest Division crown to Buffalo as the Sabres defeated the New York Rangers earlier Tuesday.

The game also marked the 1,000th career NHL contest for Senators right winger Daniel Alfredsson, who became only the 44th player in league history to reach the plateau.

Florida got goals from Shawn Matthias and Kamil Kreps in the loss, while Tomas Vokoun was touched for five goals on 28 shots in the loss.
