WASHINGTON, April 6 (UPI) -- Golden State Coach Don Nelson was denied a historic 1,333rd career win Tuesday as the Washington Wizards downed the Warriors 112-94.
With the loss, Nelson remained tied with Lenny Wilkens for the most all-time wins among NBA head coaches.
Nick Young pumped in 29 points and JaVale McGee added 25 and collected 15 rebounds for the Wizards, who posted their third straight win in the blowout.
They began the game with a 15-2 run -- during which Andray Blatche scored six of his 21 points -- and never looked back.
Shaun Livingston added a career-high 21 points in Washington's win.
Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 27 points. The team will have a prime opportunity to gain the record for Nelson Wednesday when they meet the 15-62 Minnesota Timberwolves.
