LONDON, April 5 (UPI) -- Andy Roddick's victory at the ATP masters tournament in Miami improved his world ranking to No. 7.

Roddick defeated Tomas Berdych 7-5, 6-4, in Sunday's title, a decision that moved him up from from eighth in the latest world men's tennis rankings. Roddick switched places with Robin Soderling.

Given the importance of the tournament in terms of rankings points -- Roddick collected 1,000 points in addition to $605,500 and the title -- there was little change at the top of the rankings after the two-week event.

The only other Top 10 change was another one-spot switch, with Rafael Nadal, who lost to Roddick in the semifinals, going from fourth to third and pushing Andy Murray to No. 4.

Roger Federer, who lost in Miami to Berdych in the Round of 16, has 10,765 ratings points, for a lead of 3,135 points over No. 2 Novak Djokovic. That spread is remarkable in that only eight players had as many as 3,000 ratings points.

After Nadal and Murray on the list are Juan Martin Del Potro in fifth and Nikolay Davydenko sixth. Following Roddick and Soderling are No. 9 Marin Cilic and 10th-rated Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
