
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, April 4 (UPI) -- Sami Salo scored on the power play 2:15 into overtime Sunday to give the Vancouver Canucks a 4-3 win over Minnesota and the Northwest Division title.
Vancouver led 3-1 late in regulation but the Wild scored twice in the final minute to force the extra period.
Alexander Edler's empty-net goal at 14:05 of the third made it 3-1 Vancouver but Cody Almond made it 3-2 with his first NHL goal less than 10 seconds later.
Antti Miettinen scored 23 seconds later when a rebound deflected off his stick into the goal to tie the score 3-3.
Ryan Kesler and Kyle Wellwood scored in regulation and Roberto Luongo posted 24 saves for the Canucks, who have won three of their last four games.
Andrew Brunette scored and Niklas Backstrom stopped 36 shots in Minnesota's third straight loss -- and its fourth in five games.
