ESPN, NFL.com and Comcast SportsNet in Philadelphia reported the Eagles will ship the veteran signal-caller to Washington in exchange for the 37th overall pick in this year's draft plus a third- or fourth-rounder in 2011.

Eagles Chairman Jeffrey Lurie confirmed the trade, NFL.com reported.

"Donovan McNabb was more than a franchise quarterback for this team," Lurie said. "He truly embodied all of the attributes of a great quarterback and of a great person. He has been an excellent representative of this organization and the entire National Football League both on and off the field."

Lurie said he wished McNabb and his family well and said he looks forward "to honoring him as of the greatest Eagles of all-time and hopefully see (him) enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton one day."

Eagles Coach Andy Reid said trading McNabb was "a very tough decision."

"Donovan McNabb represented everything a football player could be during his 11 seasons in Philadelphia," NFL.com quoted Reid as saying. "He carried this organization to new heights and set a high standard of excellence both on and off the field."

McNabb, 33, a five-time Pro Bowler, has spent all 11 of his NFL seasons with the Eagles, who took him with the second overall pick in the 1999 draft. In recent weeks, trade rumors have been swirling as backup Kevin Kolb appeared ready to take charge.

McNabb, who signed a $24.5 million, two-year contract in 2009, holds all of Philadelphia's major franchise records for quarterbacks. He is first in passing yards (32,873), touchdown passes (216) and completions (2,801).

Woods makes surprise Augusta appearance

AUGUSTA, Ga., April 4 (UPI) -- Tiger Woods shot a surprise practice round Sunday at Augusta National Golf Club in preparation for this week's Masters, other golfers said.

Woods arrived at Augusta's new practice range without prior notice, along with about a dozen other players, the BBC reported. The British broadcaster said Woods chatted with Casey, hit some practice balls and then headed onto the course while reporters watched.

It was Woods' first appearance ahead of Monday's much-anticipated news conference in which he is to discuss his return to the PGA Tour. Woods withdrew from professional golf late last year in the wake of the controversy surrounding revelations of his numerous extramarital affairs.

"It's where I'm used to seeing him," Casey told the BBC. "All of a sudden he appeared behind me. He was all business as usual -- hit 10 balls and go play."

"He's probably here a little earlier than normal," American golfer Jim Furyk said. "I've never seen him here on a Sunday. Generally, it's nice to have him back and I can't wait until he's out here and I don't have to answer any more questions about him."

Kim downs Taylor in Houston playoff

HOUSTON, April 4 (UPI) -- Anthony Kim's par on the first playoff hole Sunday was enough to down Vaughn Taylor and lift Kim to the Houston Open championship.

The two golfers went back to the 18th hole for the playoff. Kim two-putted from just inside 30 feet for par. Taylor, who landed in sand on his second and third shots, couldn't manage to save par with a 17-foot shot from the greenside bunker, handing the win to Kim.

Kim fired a 2-under 70 Sunday to pull into a tie with Taylor, who posted a 4-under 68, at 12-under 276.

The win was Kim's third on the PGA Tour and first since 2008 -- when he took both the Wachovia Championship and the AT&T National. He goes into The Masters with considerable momentum.

Taylor's tough loss meant no invitation for him to The Masters in his hometown of Augusta, Ga.

Sharing third place were Charl Schwartzel (67) and Graham DeLaet (68) at minus-11, while Shaun Michael carded a 7-under 65 and finished fifth at 10-under 278.

Danielle Robinson's layup pulled Oklahoma to within three points at 69-66 with 16 seconds to go, but the Cardinal broke Oklahoma's full-court press as Ogwumike got behind the defense and made a layup to confirm the win.

Robinson pumped in 23 points and Nyeshia Stevenson contributed 15, but the Sooners (27-11) couldn't complete a comeback from an 18-point deficit with less than 7 minutes remaining.
