NHL: Phoenix 3, Edmonton 2 (SO)

GLENDALE, Ariz., April 4 (UPI) -- Matthew Lombardi's goal in the eighth round of the shootout Saturday helped the Phoenix Coyotes beat Edmonton 3-2.

After Lombardi beat Jeff Deslauriers, Coyotes goalie Ilya Bryzgalov stopped Ryan Jones to nail down the win, which gave Phoenix 102 points -- four fewer than the Western Conference leading San Jose Sharks. The Coyotes -- fourth in the West -- have three regular-season games left while the Sharks have four.
