ST. LOUIS, April 3 (UPI) -- Carlo Colaiacovo's third-period goal broke a 1-1 tie Saturday and boosted the St. Louis Blues to a 2-1 victory over Dallas.

T.J. Oshie added the Blues' other goal and Chris Mason made 24 saves as St. Louis won for the fourth time in five games, keeping its faint playoff hopes alive.

The Blues are four points behind both Colorado and Calgary for the final playoff seed in the Western Conference with four games to play.

Colaiacovo's game-winner came on a power play when he launched a backhander as he was falling to the ice that eluded Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen at 8:14 of the third period.

Brenden Morrow got the lone goal for Dallas, which saw its last-gasp playoff push take serious blow with the loss.
