Bryant likely to miss game against Duke

INDIANAPOLIS, April 1 (UPI) -- West Virginia Coach Bob Huggins said Thursday he did not expect Darryl "Truck" Bryant to play in Saturday's Final Four game against Duke.

Bryant, West Virginia's point guard, suffered a broken bone in his right foot during practice March 23. He missed both the regional semifinals and finals last weekend in Syracuse, where the Mountaineers defeated Washington and Kentucky to reach the Final Four.

"Stranger things have happened, but I'd be shocked if he did (play)," Huggins said when his team arrived in Indianapolis for the concluding games of the NCAA basketball season.

Joe Mazzulla, who started in place of Bryant against Kentucky, had a career-best 17 points in the 73-66 victory.
