NBA: Oklahoma City 109, Boston 104

BOSTON, March 31 (UPI) -- Jeff Green hit a key 3-pointer with 2 minutes remaining Wednesday and Oklahoma City held on down the stretch for a 109-104 victory over Boston.

Kevin Durant scored 37 points, hitting all 15 of his free throw attempts in helping Oklahoma City create another milestone in its breakout season.

The Thunder moved to the brink of their first playoff appearance in five seasons and won their 46th game of the campaign. That is twice as many as they had in 2008-09, their first year in Oklahoma City after moving from Seattle.

Green's 3-pointer gave Oklahoma City a four-point lead, and he made another with 1:23 left to play.

Oklahoma City, which is in sixth place in the Western Conference, has an eight-game lead over ninth-place Memphis with eight games to play. One more win for Oklahoma City or one loss by Memphis will clinch a post-season berth for the Thunder.

Russell Westbrook added 21 points for Oklahoma City and Green had 17. The Thunder won for the fourth time in five games.

Boston, which fell a game behind Atlanta into fourth place in the Eastern Conference, was led by Kevin Garnett with 18 points. It was Boston's second straight home loss.
