Michigan's Harris to try NBA draft

ANN ARBOR, Mich., March 29 (UPI) -- Junior guard Manny Harris, 10th on the all-time Michigan points list, said he will pass up his senior year with the Wolverines and enter the NBA draft.

Harris averaged 18.1 points over 31 games this season in winning his third consecutive all-Big Ten Conference honor. For his career, he averaged 17 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists at Michigan.

His 1,668 points make him 10th all-time for the Wolverines.

Harris issued a statement thanking Michigan Coach John Beilein, the coaching staff, teammates other university personnel. "My growth as a person and player wouldn't have been possible without them," he said.
