ST. LOUIS, March 28 (UPI) -- Keith Tkachuk's goal at 7:36 over the third period provided the difference Sunday, boosting the St. Louis Blues to a 2-1 win over Edmonton.
Tkachuk was able to get a stick on teammate Brad Winchester's shot from high in the slot and redirect it past Edmonton goalie Devan Dubnyk to give the Blues a win and keep their faint playoff hopes alive.
Erik Johnson scored the Blues' other goal and Chris Mason turned aside 23 shots. St. Louis is eight points in back of Colorado for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
Patrick O'Sullivan scored the Oilers' lone goal while Dubnyk made 29 saves in Edmonton's third loss in four games against the Blues this season.
