CHICAGO, March 27 (UPI) -- Taj Gibson got hot early, scoring 14 of his 22 points in the first quarter Saturday as the Chicago Bulls routed New Jersey 106-83.
Gibson also collected 13 caroms and ended 7-of-9 from the field while Jannero Pargo pumped in a season-high 27 points as the Bulls won for the third time in four games and moved to within 1 1/2 games of Toronto for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Brad Miller donated 14 and pulled down six rebounds for the Bulls.
Terrence Williams scored 16 points and Jarvis Hayes added 14 points in the loss for the lowly Nets. New Jersey is still looking to post its 10th win of the season, which would assure it of not equaling the all-time worst NBA season's record of 9-73.
