COL BKB: Dayton 81, Cincinnati 66

CINCINNATI, March 23 (UPI) -- Marcus Johnson netted 16 points Monday, helping Dayton rout Cincinnati 81-66 in a second-round National Invitational Tournament game.

Johnson pulled down seven rebounds and Rob Lowery added 13 points for third-seeded Dayton (22-12), which will face top-seeded Illinois in the NIT quarterfinal round.

Chris Wright and Paul Williams each chipped in with 11 points for the Flyers, who shot 9-of-18 from 3-point territory in the first half en route to a 41-36 advantage at the break.

In the second half they clamped down on defense, holding Cincinnati to 32.2 field goal shooting percentage.

Deonta Vaughn canned 28 points in the loss for Cincinnati (19-16), while Lance Stephenson contributed 13 points.
