
CHICAGO, March 22 (UPI) -- Derrick Rose and Kirk Hinrich popped in a combined 13 points late in the game Monday, boosting the Chicago Bulls to a 98-88 win over Houston.
Rose finished with 27 points, distributed eight assists and pulled down seven rebounds while Hinrich was a perfect 4-for-4 from beyond the arc en route to 17 points. The Bulls won for the second time since enduring 10-game losing streak that dropped them from the Eastern Conference playoff picture.
Flip Murray scored 18 points, including four free throws in the final minute, while Taj Gibson contributed 12 rebounds, 10 points and five blocks in Chicago's victory.
Houston got 22 points and 10 boards from Luis Scola and Trevor Ariza chipped in with 18 points and nine rebounds as the Rockets dropped their second game in three contests.
