NHL: Atlanta 3, Philadelphia 1

PHILADELPHIA, March 21 (UPI) -- Ondrej Pavelec turned aside 44-of-45 shots Sunday, boosting the Atlanta Thrashers to a 3-1 triumph over Philadelphia.

Ron Hainsey notched a goal and a pair of helpers for the Thrashers, winners of four straight games, including a home-and-home weekend series with the Flyers.

With the victory, Atlanta moved within a point of Boston for the eighth and final playoff berth in the Eastern Conference.

The Thrashers' Todd White and Rich Peverley also tallied markers for Atlanta, which swept its season's series with the Flyers for the first time in its 11-year franchise history.

Mike Richards got the only goal for the Flyers, who with the loss dropped their fourth game in five contests. Brian Boucher collected 28 saves in the loss.
