
INDIANAPOLIS, March 21 (UPI) -- Miami (Ohio), Denver, Wisconsin and Boston College Sunday landed the four top seeds in the 2010 NCAA hockey tournament.
The NCAA Tournament selection committee gave Miami (Ohio) the top Midwest Region seed. The team will open play Saturday against Alabama-Huntsville in Fort Wayne, Ind. Also in the Midwest, Bemidji State and Michigan will face off.
In the East Region, Denver grabbed the top seed and will play Friday against RIT in Albany, N.Y. Cornell and New Hampshire will also be included in the region, squaring off in the other Friday game.
The West Region will be played in St. Paul, Minn., with Wisconsin holding the top seed. The Badgers will play Vermont Friday, while St. Cloud State will face Northern Michigan in the other West contest.
Boston College gained the top seed in the Northeast Region, playing Alaska-Fairbanks in Saturday's first game at Worcester, Mass. The other game will pit North Dakota against Yale.
Regional winners will play in the Frozen Four, set for April 8-10 at Ford Field in Detroit.
