
MILWAUKEE, March 21 (UPI) -- Jordan Crawford scored 27 points Sunday, boosting No. 6 Xavier to a 71-68 win over third-seeded Pittsburgh in a second-round NCAA Tournament West Region game.
Xavier (26-8) got 14 points and eight rebounds from Jason Love while and Terrell Holloway had 13 points for the Musketeers, who advance to the Sweet 16, where they will face second-seeded Kansas State in Salt Lake City Thursday.
Jason Love contributed 14 points and hauled down eight rebounds while Terrell Holloway added 13 points in the Musketeers' victory, during which Xavier survived a trio of 3-pointers in the final 2 minutes by Pitt's Gilbert Brown (14 points).
Ashton Gibbs scored 18 of his 19 points in the opening 20 minutes for the Panthers (25-9), while Brad Wanamaker added 16 points, hauled down 10 rebounds and distributed five assists in the loss.
