
NEW ORLEANS, March 20 (UPI) -- LaceDarius Dunn put in 26 points Saturday to spark Baylor to a 76-68 victory over Old Dominion in a second-round NCAA Tournament South Region game.
Dunn grabbed six rebounds while Josh Lomers contributed 14 points, eight boards, four steals and three blocks for the third-seeded Bears (27-7), who with the win advance to the Sweet 16 and a match-up with No. 10 seed Saint Mary's.
Tweety Carter chipped in with 12 points and eight assists for Baylor, which has never gotten past the Sweet 16 and has made the third round for the first time since 1950.
Dunn hit a layup and -- following an Old Dominion turnover -- Lomers also sank a layup with five minutes left to give Baylor a 62-58 advantage and the all momentum they would need.
Frank Hassell netted 15 points and dished off eight rebounds while Gerald Lee contributed 15 points and Kent Bazemore added 13 points and seven assists for the Monarchs (27-9).
