LOS ANGELES, March 19 (UPI) -- Longtime Los Angeles Dodgers play-by-play announcer Vin Scully, 82, was hospitalized for observation after falling at his home, a team spokesman said.
Scully was admitted to West Hills Hospital and Medical Center Thursday night after he fell out of bed and hit his head, the Los Angeles Times reported.
ESPN said Scully was in the hospital overnight.
The Dodgers play a spring training game against the Cleveland Indians Sunday in Glendale, Ariz., and Scully said he will be in the broadcast booth.
"I am spending the night (in the hospital) and plan on doing the game Sunday," Scully said in a statement.
Scully is entering his 61st season a Dodgers' broadcaster.
