ANAHEIM, Calif., March 18 (UPI) -- Saku Koivu scored the go-ahead goal with 5:36 to go in the third period Wednesday and the Anaheim Ducks went on to down Chicago 4-2.
The Blackhawks, two points behind San Jose in their battle for the best record in the Western Conference, lost their third straight.
Marian Hossa tipped in a shot 5:12 into the third to bring Chicago into a 2-2 tie, but a slapshot by Koivu eluded Corey Crawford.
Bobby Ryan scored into an empty net with 53 seconds remaining for his second goal of the game.
The Blackhawks played their first game without defenseman Brian Campbell, who will likely be out for seven weeks because of clavicle and rib fractures. He was injured Sunday when he was slammed into the boards by Washington's Alex Ovechkin, who received a two-game suspension for the hit.
Jonas Hiller made 39 saves to get the win.
