NHL: Nashville 4, Philadelphia 3 (SO)

NASHVILLE, March 16 (UPI) -- Martin Erat scored in regulation and won the game with a shootout goal Tuesday, giving the Nashville Predators a 4-3 win over Philadelphia.

Steve Sullivan and Jerred Smithson also found the net for the Predators, who collected their third straight win and held onto their seventh seed in the Western Conference standings.

The Preds' Pekka Rinne stopped 42 shots.

The Flyers got goals from Simon Gagne and Chris Pronger in the third period to force the overtime, rallying from a 3-1 deficit.

Philadelphia goalie Michael Leighton sustained a sprained ankle in the first period and was lifted from the game. He was replaced by Brian Boucher, who stopped 24 of 25 shots.
