DALLAS, March 17 (UPI) -- Caron Butler and Dirk Nowitzki combined for 53 points Wednesday, sending Dallas on its way to a 113-106 victory over Chicago.
The Mavericks bounced back from a stunning 34-point home loss to New York on Saturday that ended their 14-game winning streak. Chicago, playing without its top three scorers, lost its ninth straight.
Butler scored 27 points, 14 of which came from the foul line. Nowitzki added seven rebounds and five assists to his 26 points. J.J. Barea made 6-of-9 shots from the field and had 15 points.
Chicago's losing streak is its longest in five years. The Bulls have not won since Feb. 26, when they recorded a home victory over Portland.
Acie Law led the Bulls with a career-high 22.
Chicago played without Derrick Rose (wrist), Luol Deng (strained calf) and Joakim Noah (foot).
Dallas moved into a tie with Denver for the second-best record in the Western Conference.
