MCLEAN, Va., March 15 (UPI) -- Kansas, the top overall seed for the NCAA tournament, is the unanimous No. 1 in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' men's basketball poll.

The Jayhawks (32-2) were the poll's pre-season No. 1 and held the top spot for all but four weeks this season. In a poll released Sunday, Kansas received all 31 first-place votes. The NCAA basketball committee also likes the Jayhawks and made Kansas the top seed in the Midwest Region.

The coaches in the poll and the committee also agreed with the other top positions. Kentucky (32-2) is No. 2 in the poll and the top seed in the East Region while Duke (29-5) moved up to No. 3 and takes the highest seeding in the South Region and Syracuse (28-4) slipped a notch to No. 4 but is considered the class of the West Region.

West Virginia (27-6) is fifth in the poll with Ohio State (27-7) sixth, Kansas State (26-7) seventh and Butler (28-4) eighth, ahead of No. 9 Villanova (24-7) and 10th-ranked New Mexico (29-4).
