INDIAN WELLS, Calif., March 14 (UPI) -- Two-time champion Kim Clijsters notched her 15th straight BNP Paribas Open win Saturday in second-round action at Indian Wells, Calif.
Clijsters, the world's former No. 1 who won the tournament in 2003 and 2005, dominated Czech Barbora Zahlavova Strycov 6-2, 6-1.
"I felt good out there today," said the 26-year-old after winning five of her seven break point chances. "Obviously the conditions were pretty tough out there today, but overall, I felt good. Legs felt good, felt fresh."
Clijsters opened the 2010 season by winning her 36th career title at Brisbane.
Meanwhile, No. 6 seed Jelena Jankovic defeated Croatian Petra Martic 6-3, 7-6(2) in one hour, 43 minutes. Her previous best performance came in 2008 when she reached the semifinals before losing to fellow Serb Ana Ivanovic.
