RALEIGH, N.C., March 13 (UPI) -- Ilya Bryzgalov stopped all 29 shots he faced for his eighth shutout of the year, backstopping the Phoenix Coyotes to a 4-0 win over Carolina Saturday.
Phoenix got two goals apiece from Lee Stempniak and Martin Hanzal while Adrian Aucoin recorded a pair of assists in the victory. Stempniak's goals were his fourth and fifth for the Coyotes since he was acquired from Toronto in a trade, and Phoenix is 4-0-0 since the deal.
Stempniak's tally off a loose puck at the left post early in the first period was all the scoring Phoenix would need. His second goal 12 minutes later on a power play put the Coyotes up 2-0.
The Hurricanes' Justin Peters let in all four goals on only 20 shots in the loss, only the third in 12 games for Carolina.
