LOS ANGELES, March 13 (UPI) -- Quincy Pondexter scored 18 points Saturday, leading Washington to a 79-75 victory over California in the Pac-10 Conference Tournament title game.

Isaiah Thomas added 16 points and Venoy Overton chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds as the Huskies (24-9) won only their second Pac-10 tourney and gained the automatic berth in next week's NCAA Tournament.

Elston Turner's layup with 3 1/2 minutes left put Washington up for good at 71-68. Later, after the Golden Bears made it a two-point game at 77-75 on a Jerome Randle free throw with 4.4 seconds remaining, Overton connected on two foul shots with 2.1 seconds left to seal the victory.

Theo Robertson hit for 25 points and grabbed five rebounds while Jamal Boykin poured in 20 points and hauled down 14 caroms for California (23-10) in the loss.
