
GREENSBORO, N.C., March 13 (UPI) -- Kyle Singler scored 27 points Saturday as No. 4 Duke held off Miami (Fla.) 77-74 in an Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament semifinal game.
Jon Scheyer contributed 16 points and grabbed six caroms while Nolan Smith chipped in with 12 as the Blue Devils (28-5) progressed in their bid to become the ACC's all-time tourney title winners. They are currently tied with North Carolina at 17 Atlantic Coast crowns apiece.
Duke was set to play the winner of Saturday's other semifinal match-up between North Carolina State and Georgia Tech.
The Hurricanes (20-13) benefited from 21 points from Durand Scott while Reggie Johnson contributed 14 points and collected eight boards in the loss. Miami, seeded 12th, lost after posting earlier wins over Wake Forest and Virginia Tech.
